Calton Cases makes the world’s finest instrument cases for the world’s finest instruments. Our database contains hundreds of different instrument patterns. We may already have your instrument pattern on file, but we still get new patterns every week for new models from all sorts of builders big and small.

We hand make each case individually. The exterior shell uses custom re-enforced composite, the interior of your case is constructed using the exact dimensions of your instrument, enveloping it in the highest grade & density foam and finished in the custom velour of your choice. The result is a perfect custom fit that provides the maximum level of protection available, in the color combination that matches you & your instrument. It is the perfect & proven solution for professional touring musicians.

Our product line is simple to describe. If it is a traditional stringed instrument, we are likely have made a custom case for it already or we can. This includes all sizes and types of  guitars, mandolins, and banjos.

CALTON custom fitted composite instrument cases are rugged, well balanced and attractive hard shelled cases with interiors tailored to each instrument. Each half of every case is hand moulded in a single piece, with no seams to separate. All hardware is high quality plated steel, attached to the case with rivets and reinforcing plates. Careful attention is paid to the placement of the leather handle in order to provide the optimum in comfort and balance.

A PVC strip completely edges both top and bottom halves of the case. This strong, flexible strip, combined with the natural water repellent qualities of fibreglass, provides an almost perfect seal against the elements.

Case interiors are hand crafted from high quality foam padding, using up to 15 measurements and a template of the instrument. All interior surfaces are finished in crushed velour manufactured to our specifications and the pickbox is topped with a large foam pad that cushions the neck. The neck is further protected with a padded marine plywood guide that restricts side-to-side movement.

Calton Cases Update

Further to the earlier announcement regarding the return of Calton Cases to North America, I am pleased to announce that the company is under new stewardship. I have reached an agreement with Jon Green of Austin, Texas, USA for the sale of Calton Cases, including the brand, trademarks and all assets. The company will continue to operate under the Calton Cases name, and manufacturing will shift to Austin, Texas from 14th October 2014.

I have spent extensive time with Jon, including hands-on mentoring in my workshop, and have absolute confidence in him to maintain Calton Cases’ long established reputation for quality and durability. In addition we have many new designs and features already in the works and this move is already enabling me to concentrate on other new features, a really exciting time for all of us. Manufacturing is well under way in Austin, and a North America dealer network is already in place.

All manufacturing has now been transferred to Austin. Doug Chandler of Guitar XS is handling distribution and sales for Europe effective immediately. For additional details and price/delivery quotes, please contact Doug at:

email: sales@guitarxs.com
phone: (+44) 1227 832558

Note that there will be price increases due to import costs and VAT, something that I haven’t had to contend with in the past and have been able to pass this saving on.

The new website is up and running at www.calton-cases.com, and you can reach Jon directly at sales@calton-cases.com

I will be happy to speak with new and previous customers/friends who would like further clarification, or just a chat!
